Inspecting a property from afar

Ofir R.
Posted

Interested in buying a rental property. My eye caught a nice property. I'm in Europe now and can't travel to Texas, is there a service that I can hire, someone unbiased who will go inspect the property for me? I've never bought the property from a long distance, I always go and look/inspect/feel. So it's a new situation for me! Any advice?

Also, the area of North Austin is interesting to me, can anyone have thoughts about this area (from Georgian Acres to Gracy wood)? And a recommendation for an agent and property manager that you know/trust, would also be a good tip.

I know it's a lot, but I'm trying:) Thanks!

Hi Ofir,

Buying a rental property remotely is definitely manageable, and it's great that you're doing your research! Since you're in Europe and can't visit the property, you can hire a professional third-party home inspector or a local property manager who offers property evaluation services. They can provide detailed reports, photos, and even virtual tours to give you a good sense of the place. Many investors also use buyer’s agents who specialize in remote purchases to ensure you're getting unbiased feedback.

Regarding North Austin, it's a strong market for rentals with growing tech and job opportunities. Areas like Georgian Acres to Gracywood are in demand, offering a mix of affordability and growth potential. I'd recommend working with a trusted real estate agent who has experience with out-of-state or international buyers, along with a reliable property manager to oversee your investment.

If you need any financing advice or have questions about the process, feel free to reach out!

Best,

Drago
