Subtenant, fire damage and insurance

Does anyone have any experience with fire damage to your property that has a subtenant? A subtenant had a guest in an apartment where there was a major fire, Fire Department is still investigating who was responsible for the fire. Does anyone have any experience with a situation like this? How did you navigate the insurance claims process? What are some helpful tips to working with insurance companies to pay for the damage?
