"Driving for Dollars" Today's Story!
So today I spent most of my day driving around my area looking for FSBO's, but in a 4 hour time spand I found 16 abandoned homes. I wrote down the addresses. Now as I hear we are suppose to go through the county assesor website to find the current owners Name/Address and if a wholesale deal would work with these properties. So as I search, some properties did not even show up. Some properties did. Now as a newbie taking some action I am really trying to figure out how to read the assesor site. My question is am I just looking for the current owners name and current address? which their current Addresses do not show. Also I am looking at their History of Their Property taxes. some say, "1st Installed Payed" others say, "Totally Paid". My question is would any of that matter? and Last since their current Address doesn't show up but only Their Names.. where do I go next? I guess in San Bernardino they do not show the Current Billing Address of the owners, Says That I would have to call. Would Calling seem to be suspicious or would they question me on why? or is that what I'm suppose to do with everyone of these properties? ]I do Apologize about so much questions just really trying to get my first deal so if you guys can help me out, that would be amazing! THANKS!

"Scared money, don't make money" ??? Sounds like you're either reluctant or frightened of what people will think of you. Why would you concern yourself about what a public servant's opinion of you is?
Treat this like fishing: What would you DO with a house if you 'caught' one?
Just because you find the owner doesn't mean that they don't want the vacant house.
Your job is to identify the opportunity (vacant house) research the owner of record, confirm it is an individual (not entity), if living or deceased, determine if there are signs of lack of interest (delinquent taxes, no recent voluntary liens or transfers), and determine if they want to sell now.
If yes, you are then in the negotiation stage. Sounds like you might benefit from the help of others so don't be "afraid" to invest in some training and real estate educational books, courses, etc.
