Using software created by other investors

Hey everybody quick question! What do y'all think of purchasing software used and or created by other real estate investors? BP any better recommendation besides ( " driving for $", and bandit signs, direct mail and few others) I realized that marketing can become expensive and just wanted to pick up other s ways to market. I think purchasing software and a low end price bets the others.
