Handwritten Direct Mail?

Hello BP family! First post here! I am BRAND NEW to wholesaling and I have jumped right in (gotta jump off the building and find my wings on the way down right?) super nervous but excited to be taking some action. Anyway, I purchased an absentee list of 2000 leads. I really want to handwrite letters to these potential motivated sellers because I have to believe that handwritten letters would command a better response rate. Am I correct in assuming this? or is there another angle to this that I haven't considered?

@Jeremiah Alston - Everything works, but I think you'd be better off spending you time looking for leads rather than hand-writing all those letters.

And I prefer to send postcards because, with a letter, the first trick is to get recipients to open the letter. Once they see it's sales inside, they're usually annoyed anyway. With a postcard, they instantly know what the message is.

Don't take the time to hand-write. Take that time, instead, calling for-sale-by-owners, for-rent.com (looking for burnt out landlords), walking neighborhoods putting out flyers and talking with neighbors, putting your flyers out at coffee shops, grocery stores, etc. There are TONS of ways to find leads but hand-writing is not a must anymore (thank you Steve Jobs and Bill Gates).

Good luck to you!
