Auction sites and wholesaling

Has anyone had experience or is it possible to wholesale houses off of the auction sites? I have heard they can't be assigned but a double close can be done. Is this possible?

The point of wholesaling is to offer an end buyer (flipper/investor) a property they couldn't just find themselves.

If you're trying to sell them something that you couldn't negotiate a lower fee on , what's the value to the buyer?
