Teacher to Wholesaler Dream

Hi I am new here! I'm currently a teacher and have been teaching for over 10 years. I've come to the point of my life where I want more Financial Freedom not just for myself but for my kids. I have one of my own and two from my husband (step-children) who I love just like my own. I'm no longer happy working a nine-to-five knowing that I cannot move up in my position nor can I reach my financial dreams just doing the same thing. I've had this idea of wholesaling real estate for a long time. It is taken my husband a little bit longer to get on board as he wants to make sure we are completely honest and do it ethically. I know that sometimes wholesaling properties can flirt along a line but I am hopeful and I am ready to sink both feet in and get my dream started. My goal is to be done with teaching very soon and successfully beginning my dream. I'm looking to start by connecting with other experienced wholesalers in my area of Raleigh North Carolina and perhaps find someone who will allow me to get my feet wet and perhaps split the fee of a few properties. I believe if I have some success and see how an expert does this that maybe I can successfully feel comfortable to give up my day job and turn my dreams into reality. My long-term goal is to not only wholesale properties but to secure my long-term Financial Freedom with rental properties. Can anyone offer advice?. I appreciate it and this forum and meeting people in my area who say they have done the same things has really gotten my excited juices flowing!

Hey Jenifer, Welcome to Bigger Pockets and good luck with your wholesaling.  My best advice of where to begin is just watching podcasts on here and reading the blogs.  Bigger Pockets is a great resource!  If you have any specific questions, don't hesitate to PM me.  I have a couple former teachers on my team and taught for a while myself.  God Bless!
