For Sacramento and San Francisco counties this is the webpage I use to access free probate filings.

To start for Los Angeles county go to search then in category select Probate notices and Probate. For newspaper select Los Angeles Daily Journal or Daily Commerce. Then click on the blue select button.

You can always change the date range 10-15-30 days before todays date by clicking "From".

Then you can start browsing the site. Remember that this is a "free probate list".

You may want to scour the lists for "In Pro-per". (Party without attorney). This is were the PR may be motivated to sell.

Remember that since publication has been filed and published/posted administration has already started.
