R.E. license vs. Investing?

I am contemplating hanging my CA license with a broker. I also want to do wholesaling/flipping etc. Can anybody advice as to if I work both sides of the coin (so to speak) will it create any potential problems, i.e. legal etc etc.?

I guess the pro's of being an agent would be to have access to the MLS and of course to learn one angle of real estate sales etc.
