For the guys that have tested and measured how many times are you mailing a niche list? Statistics say that 80% of response is on the 6th to 12th contact. I'm on a limited budget and want to make sure I'm mailing the right list the right amount of times.

If your budget is limited you will want to plan in advance if its better to go wide vs deep.

Lets say your budget allows for 3000 mailings.

Wide

Mailing 1000 postcards three times (maybe every other month over 6 months or 3 months in a row)

Deep

Mailing 500 postcards six times (6 months in a row or every other month over a year).

You will want to split test a small batch before you commit to one strategy

  • post card vs letter
  • hand written letter vs typed letter
  • color envelop vs white
  • message 1 vs message 2

Finally be sure to track everything and your results results. Personally i use Google Sheets (google's version of spreadsheet) but any spreadsheet program will do.
