Wholesaling a section 8 rental property

I am a Realtor in Texas and have the opportunity to wholesale a house that is currently under section 8 with a longtime tenant in place who has always paid on time for the last 10 years. Tired landlord wants to get rid of it, though, and the tenant wants to stay. Is it possible to wholesale a property and keep it under section 8 through the assignment to close process? If so, how would I need to handle that?

Thanks!

Yes, of course.  Matter of fact, if the sect 8 tenant has a lease in place, it has to be honored.  They have the right to occupy the address, regardless of who owns it.  As a buyer of rental property, I would be happy with a 10-yr tenant that pays.  Advertise it as a bonus.  No rent-ready work needed!
