MLS or Not to MLS to Become Agent or Not to??

Hello all,

Do I invest in getting an Real Estate agent Licence so that I have access to MLS to do comp? or is there just as good a system for doing comps?

If i try using an agent to do the comps, how do I work that deal..., what do I offer the agent?
