Is illegal to pay referral fees to non realtors?
I post a ad on Facebook offering a $500 referral fee for anyone who can give and address of a crappy, ugly house. It's that illegal?

It could be. If the state found out the person receiving the monies could possibly be charged with brokering real estate without a license.
What about in Florida if a finders fee is paid to an Attorney for the referral of a buyer or seller? Are Attorneys exempt and considered like a licensed broker agent?

@Chris Martin In Florida, as I would guess in most states, it's illegal to Receive a referral fee, not particularly to Pay a referral fee, unless you are a licensed agent.
Does anyone know who pays the Referral Fees for finding Rental in NJ. Renters or Lanlords?
I'm interested in offering a referral fee or "finders fee" for anyone who can bring me a deal. I am a licensed Realtor but looking to do this to add properties to my own personal portfolio. Anyone have any insight on whether or not that can be done? I'm in Wisconsin. Thanks in advance!
