starting as a wholesaler

Hello My BP peeps, when I heard and started using BiggerPockets I did not have any knowledge of the real estate business on how its diverse in different ways to make money..

By reading and exploring this site, BiggerPockets has given me insight on lnformation that if I look some where else, my process would of took longer to gain. To make along story short thank you everybody for inputs and knowledge.

Wholesaling houses I been reading and becoming more interested in the way the real estate works. I read the basics and listen to some podcasts on this site (which I get all my info here) to equip me with a mindset of an real estate wholesaler.

I want to start now with the knowledge I have, continue learning as I go(do any body thinks that's a good idea?).

But before I start, I have some questions that need some answers.

1. Do I need to register my company name before i start doing business as a whole saler?

2. Do I create my team first before any action?

3. Documentation forms where do I get them or should I write my own contract for business?

4. Should I start local or explore other locations besides New York City?

5. Marketing strategies to take on (not a question).

I have many questions, but these can do for now.

@Levon Turner

My 2-cents worth (if that much):

1. Do I need to register my company name before i start doing business as a whole saler?

Answer:  You don't even need a company name in the first place.  This is a common place where newbies get bogged down.  Nobody cares what your company name is.  Sellers just want someone who will solve their problem, and end-buyers just want a deal.

2. Do I create my team first before any action?

Answer:  Another place where newbies get bogged down with "stuff" that doesn't really matter.  What "team members" do you think you will need?

3. Documentation forms where do I get them or should I write my own contract for business?

Answer:  What do you mean by "contract for business"?  Sounds like another newbie time waster.  You need a good purchase and sell agreement, which is sometimes referred to as a "contract", but I don't know what you are referring to about "business".

4. Should I start local or explore other locations besides New York City?

Answer:  Local

5. Marketing strategies to take on (not a question).

Answer:  Driving for dollars, yellow letters, craigslist ads, newspaper ads, bandit signs, etc, etc.

I have many questions, but these can do for now.
