Real Estate License Requirements for Wholesaling

Some states require a real estate license to wholesale (e.g., Illinois). Is this license state specific (i.e., does wholesaling in Illinois require an Illinois real estate license?), or is having a real estate license in any state fulfill this requirement?

@Corey Gelineau, real estate licenses are not universal like that. If a state requires a license you need a license IN THAT STATE.

Some states (NOT ALL) offer reciprocity for real estate licenses in certain other states, BUT that just means that if you have a license in one state that you can use that to qualify for a license in other states that offer that reciprocity. Even then you would still need to actually go get the license and maintain it.

and usually take the state test to get the license and skip the federal part of the test .. Like i got a recip to Mississippi for my CA / OR Brokers licenses and it was a whopping 13 question test I never figured out how they came up with thirteen questions its was almost like for me taking a drivers license test took me 5 minutes..
