When knocking doors, what’s the excuse for having to come back and do an appointment?

I’m going to try door knocking pre-foreclosures. I have a fresh list from county courthouses.

I’d rather not spend time running the comps knowing that it’s a numbers game and I know that people usually need a day or so to make a decision. So instead of making an offer immediately during the door knock, I was going to come back and do an appointment.

I imagine that some people would invite me in to look at the property. Since I don’t want the stress of doing comps on the spot (apart from being sweaty from knocking doors all day), how can I convince them to make an appointment without looking suspicious? I would imagine that saying, “Hey I have to go but can we schedule an appointment?” would arouse suspicion of why I need to leave and come back and why I can’t look at the property on the spot.
