Aaron Mazzrillo is in a league of his own. You will be blown away if you try to do things the way he does as a beginner. You might put a poster of him on your wall and want to be like him one day, but he's really THE most advanced wholesaler I've ever known of.

I think you want to be a remote or virtual wholesaler like Mike Nelson (Podcast 42) or Anson Young (Podcast 34), but they aren't buying site unseen. They have local "boots on the ground" partners who do the legwork of walking through properties and helping with values because they are local market experts. Desktop evaluation is a huge advantage with today's technology and it can save you a lot of wasted gas, but you never really know if you have a deal until somebody puts eyes on that property and the neighborhood.
