Bandit sign laws NJ

My partner and I will begin to wholesale properties in Newark NJ and surrounding areas within the next week, but before we begin marketing via bandit signs I would like to ask, where does one go to check the laws and ordinances of a town in reference to the posting of bandit signs? If we are going to do it, we want to do it right to avoid fines and penalties.

Thanks alot

-Tyrell

@Lana & Tyrell K. Bandit signs are very effective. If you are using them to build a cash buyer's list, make sure that when a cash buyer calls you, that you find out very specifically what they want to buy, where they want to buy, and how much they are willing to pay. Then, you go find properties specific to your cash buyer's requirements and get them under contract. Then, you call the buyer, and there should be no reason for them not to buy when you are bringing them exactly what they asked you for.

I checked with my local building department for the rules on bandit signs. Unfortunately, it's illegal in my area(no idea why). I put them up anyway. Most got taken down, but some are still up. I have gotten a LOT of calls from them from buyers and sellers though. One suggestion is to put them up on Friday's after 5pm, and take them down Sunday night. No one from the city/county is working on the weekend, so no one is around to yell at you. Just a thought.
