Wholesaling in Rhode Island/Mass area?

I have been reading up on wholesaling, and it seems like a viable option to start my RE career.

Since I live in a small state, I was wondering if it may be too saturated with other wholesalers.

What are your thoughts on this? There are only so many deals in such a small state.

Also, is the key to wholesaling finding off market properties? Most investors would see all of the properties listed on MLS.

@Tony Iacovone

I am originally from Providence, RI and have also wanted pursue wholesaling properties up there. I am currently an active wholesaler in Atlanta, GA. Off market properties are absolutely the best as mentioned by @Paul Timmins I wanted to branch out into the Providence, RI and surrounding areas because I have plenty of contacts up there.

The great thing about RI is that it may be the smallest state however there is a dense population and plenty vacant homes. I think its an excellent place to wholesale properties. Connect with me here on BiggerPockets. In the near future we can discuss making a move on that market. That also goes for you too @Elizabete De Lima Looking forward to future deals!
