Leases for Mid Term Rentals

Hello! For those who own/manage mid term rentals, do you have guests sign a lease or rental agreement of any kind? How involved is the document you use? Is it similar to a full lease agreement like one used for long term rentals? I understand there are local legal considerations that differ for each market. I'm in California so I imagine we should have a more involved lease to protect ourselves. Thank you in advance!
