Looking to do my first house hack and I am currently living in Orange County Ca, with the intentions to move to Santa Barbra. Knowing the Market being so high in both these areas what would you advise, I currently have close to 60k to invest. Knowing with the FHA loan might go that route but wondering what other people would do. With real estate being alot cheaper in other states, would love to hear how they would do there house hacks.

@Jordan Brown your question is a matter of numbers and not location.  If the numbers work in California, and they may not, then go for it.  Have you thought about just renting a 4–5-bedroom home and house hack it.  Less money on your part and you can pocket the profit between the actual rent and what you charge the others.
