Is USA Private Money A Legitimate Lending Company?

I found an ad on craigslist for funding on flip deals through CIX Connected Investors. Terry at USA Private Money, is the investor that got in contact with me. He said I'd have to pay $1000 to get started with their company.

I am just wondering if anyone has ever heard of USA Private Money and if it is a reputable company?

I've never heard of them but I would be careful of anyone or company asking that you put up $ just to get started with them.
