Getting into real estate in this market
Hope all is well.
I am new to this forum, and started listening to the bigger pockets podcast a few weeks ago. I have been interested in getting into real estate by purchasing a duplex/triplex to learn the ropes. Not sure if this market, is a smart market to get into. Working in the mortgage industry, I see homes are selling for way more than they are worth. (Chicago land area). Any advice and or words of wisdom, would be much appreciated!
Thank You!

Well if you invest in Illinois, the tenants are always going to have the upside. I personally do not invest (anymore) in tenant friendly states. The best way to protect yourself is to thoroughly check tenants before they move in and thoroughly check tenants that are already in a property you are planning on purchasing.
