@Joe Splitrock I agree, you cannot use a "SMS Blast" to an audience without prior consent, but you are still allowed to send text messages as long as a human is manually hitting send on every outgoing message. There are additional rules that would have to followed (recently updated by the TCPA) such as including the first name, and name of the company, as well as opt out language on every message sent.

@Brooke Hallock Launch Control is an alternative to Sherpa (and a bit cheaper too). I have personally only used Sherpa, but I have heard good things about their platform. Good Luck!

People have ways they try to skirt the law. Sherpa claims they are compliant, but they are not. They hang their hat on two claims. Number one, they say they are not selling anything. That claim may be true for them, but their customers (you) are soliciting. It may protect Sherpa, but doesn't protect you. Their second claim is that they are not an automatic telephone dialing system. Sending bulk texts has been interpreted by the courts as being the same as auto dialing. If you are hand typing texts, there is no way you can send thousands an hour. At the end of the day, Sherpa has no liability because your business name is the sender. Just be aware you are taking 100% of the legal risk. Some people are ok taking that risk, others are not.

I would not put my company name on a bulk e-mail message. Just saying if you are going to break the law, use a fake company name and a burner phone, haha.
