Credibility packet? How do you build one? When should I have one?

I'm an investor in the making, I'm trying to build my marketing materials and I'm having a hard time thinking of what to put on my credibility packet.

Should I even have one from the beginning?

What should a new investor have in there if he/she have no deals yet and no experience?

Any tips or suggestions? It would be greatly appreciated.

Mister J has some good points. And that is his way.

Now this is our way. There is not one single way to approach this so I am not saying he is wrong here. But I do want to add my reasoning on my way.

Here is what most people don't understand when it comes to credibility.

If bill gates wants to buy your house... will you ask him for a proof of funds?

No

Why?

You know he is good for it.

If nike wants to sell you the latet shoe that says you will run 0.5mph faster. Would you blieve it if they didn't show you some experiment data?

Yup you would, It is nike.

Now look at this graph.

The reviews tap is in between the how it works and the our company tab.

It is not the most popular tab. People do not care about our reviews. Yetwe get more leads in a day most people get in 2 months!!

You will be wondering WHY...

Well easy. People ONLY want to see your credentials if they do NOT trust you or if they have REASON not to trsut you.

We have never been asked for our license, never for a proof of funds and we have never been doubted.

Why?

Because we don't try (too hard) to look or come over as credible.

What happens when you try too hard to make your girlfriend believe you were home alone last night?

She will believe you less.

Credibility is a fickle thing. It needs to be handled the right way.

If you are going to shove your license and all these documents in their face, you will simply make them think... "hmmmm... what are you trying to hide from us".

Confidence = credibility.

Do you know HOW MANY people ask me for my SEO goodness? You know why? Well other than I am the only one showing results, I am confident I am the best at it, second to none. Period. People don't doubt me.

I am credible when it comes to SEO.

Well for the same reason we are credible when it comes to buying houses. Not only don't we try hard.. or at least it doesnt LOOK like we try hard to seem credible, we are selective who we work with.

Now suddenly the tables have turned right?

Now THEY beg US please please please let me sell my house to you.

See what I am getting at?

Credibility is NOT the completion of certain tasks that makes you "credible". It is not the possession of "proof" that is supposed to make me believe you are credible.

Credibility is the (desired) RESULT of completing tasks, or how you act.

Let me make it even more clear.

NOT because you perform task A, B, and C, you are now magically credible. No

You can do those 3 tasks, and I can do the exact 3 tasks and I am WAY more credible and you are not!

Lastly, credibility is not just that, credibility.

What I call "credibility" is  "what ever a seller needs to see read experience from you, your mailer, your website,  to fill in the form.

So, having all the documents, sure they may believe you are credible... but they still may not like you!

We get offers accepted while they are LOWER than the competition because we are credible "they just have a better feeling about us".

And why not?

Have you seen me?

I may smell like Ape but I am Smeksie!!

So my handsome friend. This is what you do.

Get a website, and be sure you put your URL on every marketing piece you send (I would advise you NOT TO SEND DMM... but OK).

Then do not do like 100% of .. well everyone does.

Sell yourself in the hero section. DON'T.

Everyone tells you to do this right?

Its all BS.

Treat your traffic like you would treat your fellow Yooman you'd meet at walmart.

An introduction. Tell them who you are and what you do.

First and foremost.

What are most of you doing??

HEY HEY HEY LOOK AT ME, NO COST< OFFER IN 24 Hours. NO REPAIRS FREE PICK ME PICK ME, #1 Homebuyers in [City]... when they rankk #33, and all 32 people above them also claim they are the #1 home buyers.

I mean SERIOUSLY are you born without a brain?!

If you state you are the Premier or #1 home buyer and you are NOT on the #1 spot on Google and if it is not absolutely obvius you ARE the #1 buyer.. you are GIVING UP your credibility. You look like a wanna be LOOSER!! For Pete sake people remove that utter BS "We are the #1 home buyers in [city] state. We all know you are not.

I am!

pfffft

Stay calm stay collected,  make THEM beg for you!

Sorry, this is how far I am willing to share my secrets!

Take off your shoes as you enter their home. Show respect, and I guarantee it you will never be asked to show any proof of funds.. well unless you are fugly...

then all bets are off.

So my tip for you is... be cool mate. Be you, be real.
