@Alex Marco I would have to agree with the previous comment. You must stay consistent. I’ve also found that it helps a lot if you become a specialist for a specific type of list such as probate. You can make it harder on yourself chasing a lots of different types of lists, at least that is my experience.

@Alex Marco I find that lack of consistency can become a problem with marketing a lot of times. If you dont maintain a constant marketing strategy whether that is direct mail, cold calling. or any other form of marketing you will stunt your efforts drastically.

The points brought up about consistency is very much accurate. Whenever I write posts about marketing campaigns I can't stress the word "CONSISTENCY" enough! Let's take direct mail for example: If I stopped posting mail according to my pre-planned schedule or didn't have a schedule at all it would hurt my consistency, ergo, my chances of success. When mailing, I plan out when to mail, who to mail to, what to mail, how to mail it, for how long, how to follow it up and how much of a budget I would need to continue this campaign for at least 6months up to a year (maybe longer depending on the fruits of my efforts). Keeping track of the campaign, following up the mail and maintaining a schedule are the most important aspects of any marketing campaign. You don't want people to forget you in between mailers. You want to stand out and you would want to be there to help them when they might need it, that is, when they are motivated to sell. We don't know when that will be, so we need to CONSISTENTLY follow through with our efforts to try and grab their attention for when the time is right.Hope this helps. Good Luck!

Marketing is about being different and effective. You need both together. You need to be in front of someone exactly that moment they need it.There are 2 ways to accomplish this... 1) continuously market daily weekly monthly (expensive)..2) be found when someone looks for you (best way)What I suggest is this:Do a direct mail marketing campaign once every 6 to 8 months, but not to "get leads". The point is to let people know you exist. Your mailer needs to be absolutely spectacular (ask me about this if you want to know what I mean wit thi).I am STILL receiving phone calls from people from my last direct mail marketing campaign sent out about 3 years ago!!Than the rest of your time work on a killer website!So the challenge with marketing really depends on what kid of marketing you are doing. If you are doing websites, then SEO and credibility is a challenge. The other challenge people are often not aware of (usually because people suck at marketing), is that efficient marketing ALWAYS involves several methods/niches of marketing combined.People simply do not understand the concept of marketing. It is a bit more involved than sending mailers out, or paying for ads and sit back and hope it will work.So the real challenge is to figure out a combination of marketing venue (PPC, DMM, SEO), find out a way to track and log, and evaluate the data, and draw your conclusions based on the results and formulate why the results are the way they are. Extract from this the formula and throw that in an open loop feedback system where you teak your marketing effort based on your evaluation and results and repeat the process till you maximize the results.An example. We do not market other than our website SEO. That is all we do. And it is all we NEED to do.Ideally I would say do DMM, Bandit signs (not really) what ever.. and the point of that secondoary marketing (SEO being the primary marketing) is to send traffic to my website. Nothing more. We do not try to get lads or sign contracts from that secondary marketing. We just send traffic to our site.So why did I say then that we do no longer do secondary marketing if I so fiercely stand by it?Because our competitors do it for me.Yup, they post bandit signs, sent 10000 of mailers out and do facebook dds and what have you. The result of their marketing is that these people seeing their marketing will eventually turn to google to research verify and confirm... and as we are the ranking site, they WILL find us on google.We have nailed conversion and SEO so more than likely they will pick us.As you can see, marketing is a bit more complicated and is hard to simply answer such a question you asked by just naming a few things.Marketing done wrong is simple. Marketing done right, is involved. Easy and straightforward, but involved.

@Alex Marco Well to be completely transparent I personally am not an investor, but rather a marketing expert of sorts :) So instead of overcoming issues with inconsistencies myself I do my best to help others with their marketing problems. To answer your question...maintaining a good follow up process is where I see the most people needing help.
