Hello ________,

I received your email from _______________ regarding your property at __________ in Jersey City. First of all I would like to express my sincere condolences for your recent loss. I understand losing a loved one can be a very difficult and stressful time for you. ________ did tell me however, that your property has become very burdensome for you, and as I am soon to be a new owner in the building I would like to see if there is any way I can help because I think it would benefit the both of us.

My company has specialized in buying distressed properties for some time now and helping homeowners move on. If you are up for it, I would be happy to speak with you, find out more information, and hopefully offer you a quick solution.

I am closing on a condo next month in this building, and the president of the association actually referred to me this seller. I thought I would post this up to all who want to review of how to communicate with a seller through email. It is preferably not the first way I would like to be in touch with someone but the referral added some instant credibility for me. What I tried to do was make it a bit like a direct mail letter with a letter more personality to it. Any opinions, thoughts, critiques I am all ears!
