I am doing a search for probates and I am wondering how far back I should search. 3 months from today? 6 months? Open or closed cases? I've heard it both ways. I really need a range of how far back I should search. I am doing a letter mailing this week.

Our company has been doing probate research for quite a while.  What we have found from the thousands of cases that we have pulled there is a combination of two things.  The first is, quite simply, being first.  We have found that most people respond to one of the first companies that reaches out to them.  Secondly, we have found it will take them some time to decide what to do with the property.  On average, four to six months.  That's why it is important to have current probate leads combined with a marketing plan that has continuous follow up.
