How do I get the most buck for my marketing budget?

I keep hearing that marketing is the key of success with real estate investing and I see there are many ways to do marketing. I have done few of them but I'm curious to get some ideas on where should I put my marketing budget to get the most of it. I'm planning to have a budget of $800-$1000 per month. I have thought about putting 100% of it on getting online leads but I don't know if that would be the best route or should I split my budget to other marketing strategies, if so, what other strategies could be effective? I understand that not all of them are going to lead to a deal every time but I'm looking to get more quality leads. I want to thanks in advance for the inputs :)

Whatever you medium you choose to use the key is consistency. At first your a unknown as time go's on you become familiar (sometime unconsciously). For me I  stick to some online but mostly offline. I like doing direct mail. I find I can focus on area and demographics well. Also per prospect cost is very low. Hope this helps.
