Aspiring rental property investor
Hello everyone, my name is Alejandro and I am new to the bigger pockets community. I'am going out of my comfort zone and asking for guidance to becoming a real estate investor! I have been wanting to buy an investment property for quite some time now but keep hitting road block after road block. The only knowledge I have comes from the bigger podcast, books and youtube. Would appreciate any resources like other books, investor groups that I can join for mentorship or any tools that a newbie needs to get their first investment property! Thank in advance for any info!

@Alejandro Cuevas Welcome to BP, great to have you! You have started in the right spot by trying to educate yourself with podcasts, books, the BP forums, etc. I would recommend finding a local RE meetup in your area and start plugging into that. You'll meet active investors in your area with a lot of experience and knowledge ready to share. Also, start mentioning to all of your friends and family that you are interested in real estate investing - this might help you find others with similar interests and could even lead to deals in the future.
I would also recommend beginning to analyze deals on a daily basis to get used to running the numbers and determining what deals are good/bad in the particular market that you are interested in investing in. Lastly, I would start looking at the market in your desired area every day to learn everything you can. Here's a starters list of things to look at: property prices, rental rates, strength of the local economy, historical property appreciation, crime rates, local school quality, proximity to corporate centers (jobs), walkability, property taxes, insurance rates, and tenant/landlord laws. This is a good starting point to get a better pulse on the area that you wish to invest in one day.
