Hi Alejandro!! I currently have a SFH as a rental in Bolingbrook. Like you, it was our primary residence which we turned into a rental once we got our 3 flat. @John Warren Was actually our agent who helped us buy our first (and then second) house hack in berwyn. Hey April, thanks for commenting! Where in Bolingbrook is your rental? Also, how many days was your property listed on the market before it was rented?

If the numbers work I would 100% keep the home and rent it out, however you just need to make sure you're making enough in cashflow to cover your mortgage, vacancy, capex, and maintenance. Here in Bolingbrook we do have an extreme shortage of rental properties- especially smaller starter home sized rentals.

Good evening BiggerPockets community!

My wife and I currently own a single family home in Bolingbrook, IL and are working with a realtor and loan officer at the moment to purchase our first multi-unit property. It is looking as though our best option is to move out of our house and house hack into the multi-family home so that we wouldn't put down a large down payment. We do not mind moving out of our primary residence if it means that we can start on our investment journey. I would like to know if anyone has had any experience renting out a single family house in or near Bolingbrook, IL. We do not want to get rid of this house because we would like to add it to our portfolio in the long run. However, we want to ensure that there is a market for single family homes in the area that would guarantee us to rent it out. We would appreciate if you have any insight or advice.

Hello everyone, my name is Alejandro and I am new to the bigger pockets community. I'am going out of my comfort zone and asking for guidance to becoming a real estate investor! I have been wanting to buy an investment property for quite some time now but keep hitting road block after road block. The only knowledge I have comes from the bigger podcast, books and youtube. Would appreciate any resources like other books, investor groups that I can join for mentorship or any tools that a newbie needs to get their first investment property!
