Chattanooga TN Rentals

Good morning BP members

I'm looking to close on a rental in the Chattanooga TN area next week. The research that I've done the last few months show that the rental market is ok. However, with the recent developments in the economy and job losses due to Covid 19, I'm discovering that there has been a challenge getting/retaining tenants.

Does anyone know where I can get recent information regarding rental occupancy data in Chattanooga? Has anyone experienced any problems in the Chattanooga TN rental market with occupancy? If so, what strategies are you using ? I'm trying to get a pulse on what options I have to move forward with after closing.

Thank you!!

Is this your first rental? Mine are all performing now. I did have one family impacted but it was only one month and I worked with them. Any that I'm renting now, I look at their occupation and industry on top of my normal qualifications. If this is your first, be patient and vet them well. Don't settle because you will have a larger personal impact if you get impatient and take a risk on someone who doesn't pay off.

If you are considering working with a property management company, ask them what they see. Make sure you talk with the bigger ones.
