Arizona-how are locals viewing market currently?

I'm curious as to how the locals are viewing the rental market in Arizona. When I looked on craigslist, I see literally hundreds if not thousands of rental listings per day. What is the vacancy factor? Are there really that many people looking? I was shocked when I saw the number of properties. I'll be in Arizona for the month of March to enjoy the sunshine and some spring training games. I'd appreciate some replies. Rich
