Excellent summary of planned and proposed development in Columbus, OH: 5,350 New Residences and 1.3M sq. ft. of Commercial Space Announced.

The article also has a link to the interactive Crane Watch map that shows where development is happening.

#1: The Scioto Peninsula project. Would be great to see our downtown spread across the river and add some depth to the skyline. (Plus I'm always a fan of an underdog story and Franklinton sort of fits that role due to the moratorium on building after the historic flood.)

#2: Project QT, it will add an outdoor recreation space unlike anything else we currently have in the city.

#3: (Which isn't on that list) The 35-story North Market parking lot tower. (Wish they would've never torn down all of the historic downtown buildings that they did for the purpose of paving surface parking lots so I am a supporter of redeveloping all of the parking lots downtown). The city "went for it" and chose the tallest of the three final proposals, and the renderings look awesome. However, not only is this not on the list but it's not on the Crane Watch map (?!?) -- am hopeful the project hasn't been pulled!

#3 (tie!) -- anything downtown. Part of me wants to fast-forward into the future to see what Columbus will look like someday when more people live downtown and it becomes more livable and energetic - already so much better than 5 or 10 years ago..
