New to the game. What are if DFW will be good to invest?

I am looking to buy a single family or a duplex in DFW. With this high market now, what are of DFW will be a good place to start? Does anyone know an investor in DFW who is also a veteran? I was in the navy and I would love to become one day a successful real estate investor like Brandon turner is.
