Full-Time Investors - Tell us how you quit your day jobs!

Let's face it - most of us are here because we want to make enough passive income to quit our day jobs. There's a TON of people here working towards that goal. I'm certainly not there yet, but love success stories, and every piece of knowledge helps structure future deals.

So full-time investors, could you tell us how you did it? What path(s) did you take, deals, etc that eventually led to enough income to quit your job?

Would love to see:

1. Investment Type:
2. Geographical Location:
3. Type of Financing:
4. How many deals done before taking the leap:
5. How much time from first deal to 2-weeks notice:
5. Ultimate Goal in REI:

Could be a fun topic.

I was on the road a lot with many 5am starts.
One morning the wife (who maintains our RE books), simply commented
"you don't need to do it anymore".
I always promised I would quit '9-5' once the 'passive' exceeded the 'painful' way of earning a living.
A least with RE I look fwd to every day & every deal!!!

1. Investment Type: Anything someone could live in.
2. Geographical Location: Canada, Florida NY etc
3. Type of Financing: Whatever I could get. Now its all cash.
4. How many deals done before taking the leap: <20
5. How much time from first deal to 2-weeks notice: < 12 years
5. Ultimate Goal in REI: My wife put a moratorium on property accumulation, so now I enjoy working with others to help them amass their own 'conservative' RE portfolios. This year we have been instrumental in getting 5 young Veterans into their own investment properties.
