Should we forfeit earnest money?

I am a long distance Investor that paid $10k and deposited $3k earnest money for a property in Flint, MI. The sellers have been a real headache and uncooperative in the closing process. In the meantime, the property manager checked on the property and advised the door had been kicked in. Should we forfeit or move forward with purchase since we’re unsure of condition at this point? The home was appraised at $43k before repairs which appeared to be cosmetic.

If it's already under contract, move forward. Doors get kicked in on vacant properties. Have one of your team members check out the property. So you haven't seen the inside?
