Hello,

We own 2 SF houses on larger plots in Tacoma, WA.

I have been considering building second houses on each plot and messaged the city about it. They did not think the lots would support another house, but would support an ADU.

This is the direction I am now pursuing, and am pretty exited about it.

If things progress, I will be having these ADUs built from scratch. Has anyone ever gone through this process? Any factors that I should consider ahead of time, etc?

My plan in broad terms: 1) meet with the city/zoning folks 2) narrow down the construction company we will work with. 3) figure out the financing/cash flow potential

Any other thoughts?
