Is a town home a good deal?
I have the opportunity to buy a 2 stores, 3 rooms and 2 bathrooms townhome for $160k. Putting 20% down payment, HOA is $320 a month and mortgage loan at 4.327% my monthly payment would be $1300. My intent is to live there for two years, in the meantime find another property to either rehab or buy, then in two years just rent the one I'm living in. Is this a good strategy to get into real estate? I have capital to get into a partnership, but I have never done it. So I have been thinking about buying to live and then rent. Is a townhome a good option or should I invest more in a house?
