New construction home but cannot rent or sell. Advice needed!

Hello,

I signed the contract for a new construction townhome early this year, which I wanted to move in to. But due to change in circumstances, I cannot move into that new home for a while. The contract from the builder has a clause that I cannot sell or rent the home in the first year of ownership.

I was hoping for some advise related to if I can work around this clause with the builder ?

Thank you.
