Taking The First Step

Hey BP! Just wanted to share some thoughts on how I took my first step recently.

After many months of educating myself, I wanted to take some action instead of just talking about Real Estate. I looked and networked around my area for ways that I could provide value to investors and found that it was more difficult than I thought. When you are starting out, you have no credibility and no one trusts you initially. To most people, unless you build a solid track record, it is tough to get going. When you are drowning in student loan debt and are having trouble saving to make that first purchase, you have to get creative.

I decided to make a few small successes so I could build confidence and credibility. I found an awesome position at a brokerage where I would be a part-time real estate associate agent where I would be able to assist Real Estate Agents with tours and other events related to the home buying sales process. That required that I get my license. I learned a lot through that process and it was a great decision. I am continuing to learn and grow my network so that when I find that right deal, I can execute it and continue to build on that.

I am not saying you should go out and get your Real Estate License, but I do think at some point, you need to take that first step and overcome any initial fear you have.
