Real Estate Market crash?

Where I live, the Midwest, the prices of houses is going up rapidly and it seems concerning to buy anytime soon. I’m 17 and can’t buy yet so I’m not in too much of a rush, but I’m still curious. Since houses are getting much more expensive recently, will the real estate market crash significantly? Or will it just bubble down? And does this look like anything that happened in 2008? If it does, it would be a perfect time to buy I think.
