Reno, NV
What can you tell me about living in Reno? Looking for a temp. residence (friend just moved there). Any particular areas, streets, neighborhoods, apartments, rentals which would be wise to stay away (relating to personal safety)? I know this is not easy to answer but any info would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Robert-
Reno in general is a safe place. If you are looking to stay in one of the more 'hip' parts of town I would look into the Old SW or what we call 'Midtown'. I would stay away from Sun Valley, Stead, Cold Springs, North Valley and any other areas that are North of Reno. In general those areas are fairly run down and lack a lot of amenities. In the end it comes down to what type of living you want. Do you want to be able to walk to local restaurants and bars, or do you want to get in your car and drive to Chilis?
