I will be attending a local REIA for the first time. I would like to try to network with the people there to gain connections for future deals and leads. I have never been to anything like this before. Any tips and ideas of what to expect?

I would recommend bringing pen and paper, look professional, and bring professional looking business cards. Don't use stock photos on your business cards, after a while I see the same pictures over and over.

As for what you can expect. It may vary from meetup to meetup, but typically there is a speaker who will have some great tips and then there is a networking time. In my opinion, the networking time is the most valuable time and many people don't take advantage of it. Making connections is so important in the real estate business.
