So. Cal BP family,

I was just wondering if any of the So. Cal BPers have used this brand new program. Qualified contractors for this 'going green' initiative tells me that home/property owners do not need to qualify with a FICO. The program takes the property's appraisal & allows the owner 10% of the appraised value to be used for 'green' products like HVAC, roofing, windows and even paint. The beauty of it is that payments will just be added to the semi-annual tax bill.

Just wanted to send out a feeler out there if this is true? This could be super-fraje-listic-expi-ali-docious, or whatever Mary Poppins spells it out, for the rehabbers. The cost will now be added on to the post-rehab/ARV buyer since it's being paid along with the tax bill. For landlords & primary residence homeowners: cha-ching! You can start soundtrack of Pink Floyd's 'Money' song.

This program was started around the Inland Empire area, Riverside/San Bernardino counties. I hope those BPers from that area would give their inputs to give us the actual skinny on this dilly.

Thanks,

-john
