Looking to make investor friends in Poughkeepsie, NY and along the RI Coast

Hello!

My name is Darren and I recently graduated college and I am in the process of getting my NYS Real Estate Salesperson License. I am back home living right outside of Poughkeepsie, NY which is located in Dutchess County a little north of NYC. My plan is to begin flipping houses in Poughkeepsie/the Hudson Valley in order to build up some capital. I will also be working as either a commercial or residential real estate agent depending on which firm I choose in the next couple of weeks. My ultimate goal is to take the profits from my flipping business and invest in large complexes for a more passive income.

I have learned alot thanks to authors like JScott, but now I'm looking to meet with other investors who may more specialized knowledge of the areas I'm looking to invest. I would love to find out some recommendations regarding local attorneys and general contractors in Poughkeepsie who are familiar with real estate investors/flipping.

I also hope to eventually move to the Rhode Island coast in the next few years and potentially begin investing in the Newport/Narragansett, RI areas even sooner. I wouldn't mind picking someones brain who is located/invests there either if they were interested.
