How do you determine class A-B-C-D location?

I’ve heard BP podcasts talk about investing in B class locations etc. What are those designations and how do I know what my area would be classified as?

A lot of people get this wrong, or at least look at this trough rose colored glasses.

Take your market, start at the top with A and devide it in 4 segments.

In Milwaukee an A class newer single family 500-700k (because we are generously exclusing the luxury segement). So B class is below that, let's say 300-500k. C class would be 150 to 300k. And then D is 150k and under. D minus are the high crime areas.

Median sales price for a single family is curently 215k and up 10.26% from last year.
