Sales Tax for New Windows

Hello BP Fam! I have a question. I am replacing all the windows in a rental house rehab. The windows themselves are costing me $4,400 + $400 in sales tax. I'm having someone else install them. This is a capital improvement. Do I need to pay the sales tax? How could I avoid paying the sales tax? I live in Upstate New York and that work is being done in Upstate New York, if it matters. Thanks!
