Facebook for lead generation

Hey you all,

I saw a few forum posts in the past about suing facebook as a place to market. I have recently came across the idea of using facebook to market. not on a personal facebook but I created a couple "yard sale" accounts which seem to be popular in my area. One of them currently has close to 3000 friends, many of which are people who tend to use facebook as a tradeplace. I am sure this is nothing new but it does provide me with a 3000 person lead base for no cost. Also, by linking my status with other yard sale accounts I am able to broad cast to even more potential sellers. I am also in the process of creating a few more accounts under differing names for my area.

Has anybody else tried this? It honestly seems to be a great way to bring in potential customers.

(I have not yet advertised on these for leads on facebook, I am about to begin since I finally have my education down to where it needs to be for a first time buy, and have a couple people in place who are interested in partnering.).

I will totally keep this topic up to date on the efficiency of this stratigy.

@Anthony Cecchini I think this is an AMAZING idea and the light bulb on this exact topic just went off for me yesterday.

I'm new to my local market and made a post in a "yard sale" group (5k+ members) yesterday about finding an investor friendly RE attorney.... I was shocked when not only did I have multiple people point me in the right direction, but I also had local investors private message me hungry for deals! As a wholesaler, it's like the best possible scenario! Best of luck in the future buddy!
