Podio: what to set up first?

Hey BP - I'm setting up Podio for the first time. It's not super hard, but it is definitely time consuming. Learning all the tricks and automations takes some work and googling When you set up Podio, what do you think should be the first thing? I'm thinking lead management or direct Mail. But those are (again) quite time consuming.

Lead Management or Direct Mail are both good places to start.  As you build out your apps, make sure you understand how to use the relationship field type.  This is critical for making sure you don't have redundant contact data all over the place.  For example, for a "Seller Leads" app, if you are building out Podio correctly you'll end up pointing to this app from a relationship field in many other apps--and *not* reproducing any data like email, phone, address, etc. in any other app.

I've run into lots of Podio implementations where an understanding of this feature would have avoided a lot of painful rework later on.

Good luck! Podio is an amazing tool for REI businesses.
